The Central Coast Dharma Center (CCDC) offers a wide range of classes to help improve the quality of your life! Buddhist techniques are proven as a way to achieve your dreams for prosperity, peace and joy!
Our life classes are secular in nature but use methods rooted in Buddhist philosophy. For example, meditation and mindfulness are a great way to improve your focus, reduce your stress and achieve your goals. Life Coaching classes are designed to provide clarity on your purpose and dreams and then provide the tools to explore and achieve them.
NOTE: Some of our coaching is "trauma-aware" meaning we recognize the block to success can be unprocessed life issues. However, we are NOT therapists or psychologists. We work with and recommend licensed therapists when needs exceed the scope of classic life coaching, mindfulness or goal achievement training.

Meditation & Mindfulness Classes
Meditation and mindfulness are ways to train the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body..And just like there ate different ways of training, there are different meditation practices and different techniques. The CCDC offers classes in the 5 classic styles of meditation:

- Loving-kindness meditation (Metta Meditation)
- Body scan or progressive relaxation

LIFE COACHING
Life coaching helps people improve their personal and professional lives. A Life Coach can help you discover your purpose, clarify your dreams and help you meet your goals.
What makes Life Coaching at the CCDC different is we combine classic life coaching elements with Buddhist and trauma-informed knowledge. Our programs use proven processes such as the Todo Institute's Naikan Journaling and Uplevel's Visioning Boards and Prosperity techniques. Our most popular class is "The Buddha's Teachings on Prosperity" which helps align your Buddhist practice with life success. |
How is life coaching different than therapy? Therapy and psychological interventions tend to focus on the past and underlying causative issues as a way to help individuals return to mental health and homeostasis - i.e., "life balance". Life coaching involves guidance and support for improving life and achieving goals which leads to improved life satisfaction. Coaching does not treat underlying issues nor issue medication. That said, the coaching programs at CCDC are "trauma-informed" which means they are aware of the psychological challenges that most people face in trying to accomplish their goals.
